MetaQuotes Released MT5 Build 5660 with Improved Proxy and OpenBLAS Support
On Friday, February 27, 2026, fintech company MetaQuotes released build 5660 of its MetaTrader 5 (MT5) trading platform.
This update brought enhancements to proxy server functionality, with improved support for HTTP and SOCKS5 protocols aimed at reducing connection errors. Support for the older SOCKS4 protocol was removed.
In addition, the update revised the platform’s use of the OpenBLAS linear algebra library. OpenBLAS was delivered as a separate file, openblas.dll, which reduced the size of the main terminal and tester executables. This helped users save bandwidth during platform updates, as the library did not need to be downloaded with every update.
Multiple instances of MT5 installed on the same computer shared a single OpenBLAS library, conserving disk space. Moreover, if OpenBLAS functions were not used, the library was not loaded into memory, minimizing resource consumption.
The update was distributed automatically through the platform’s Live Update system.
