MEX Exchange institutional trading platform executive appointment

MEX Exchange, the institutional trading platform owned by MultiBank Group, has named Brian Liedberg as chief revenue officer and global head of sales. The appointment, announced on Monday, is the sixth senior hire or promotion at the venue in two weeks and the only one brought in from outside the group.

Liedberg will be responsible for selling MEX Exchange's spot foreign exchange, precious metals and commodities offerings. The platform was launched in May 2024 as an electronic communications network for banks and institutions in the BRICS and Gulf markets, a client base MultiBank says established venues have overlooked.

MultiBank says it handles more than $35 billion in daily trading volume for over 2 million clients, up from the $25 billion it cited in early 2025. Both figures are MultiBank's own; MEX Exchange has not published separate volume data.

The leadership changes at MEX Exchange began on August 31, when Brian Andreyko, previously chief product officer, succeeded David Ogg as chief executive. Ogg became vice chairman. Two days later, the company announced three promotions: Jeremy Pearce to chief operating officer for the Middle East, Africa and Asia; Beth White to the same role for the Americas and Europe; and James Longo to chief technology officer.

Andreyko said Liedberg's understanding of the institutional trading landscape will be valuable as MEX Exchange develops.

Liedberg was previously head of global sales and chief revenue officer at TradAir, according to MEX Exchange. He remained with the vendor through ION Group's acquisition in January 2021. In a January 2022 announcement pairing TradAir with digital asset exchange BlockQuake, Liedberg appeared as chief business officer. Ogg held that same title at TradAir. Ogg founded HotspotFX in 1999 and joined MultiBank in early 2023. MEX Exchange lists earlier roles for Liedberg at Integral, Enigma Securities, Ingenium and Celer Technologies.

MultiBank has continued to expand the structure around MEX Exchange. It said in 2025 that a separate unit, MEX Orient, would enter 14 countries within three years.
