Clip, Mexico's leading digital payments and commerce enablement platform, has successfully secured a $100 million investment round. The funds come from investment funds managed by Morgan Stanley Tactical Value (MSTV) and an experienced West Coast mutual fund manager.

This investment aligns Clip's valuation with its Series D round completed in 2021, during which it raised $250 million. At that time, SoftBank Latin America Fund and Viking Global Investors LP led the investment, valuing Clip at $2 billion.

Adolfo Babatz, Clip's Founder and CEO, expressed the company's strategic plans for the new capital. The funds will drive product development and further strengthen offerings to empower stakeholders across Mexico's economy. In an interview with Bloomberg, Babatz revealed that Clip is on the "brink of profitability" and plans to expand its workforce by approximately 150 employees in the coming years.

Since its inception in 2012, Clip has focused on supporting small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Mexico. The company offers a comprehensive suite of purpose-built solutions, including digital payment options with buy now pay later (BNPL) capabilities, point-of-sale (POS) devices, business loans, and merchant-specific APIs. Clip's mission centers around driving financial inclusion through innovative technology solutions, and this investment reinforces its commitment to that goal.
