Michael T. Viola Succeeds Robert Greifeld as Chairman at Virtu Financial

The leading global market maker Virtu Financial has selected Michael T. Viola to take over the role of Chairman from Robert Greifeldm, who has been in this role since July 2017.

Michael T. Viola joined Virtu Financial dince 2011, having held multiple roles, most recently working as a senior trader focused on foreign exchange products and global commodities. He served Virtu’s Board of Directors from April 2016 and chaired the company’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee since 2019.

Besides, Michael has served as the President of the Viola family’s private investment office since 2016. Currently, he is also a member of the Board of Directors of Independent Bank Group, Inc., multiple private companies, and the Viola Foundation.

Robert Greifeld will continue to serve as Chairman of USATF Foundation, the Cornerstone entities and Run Gum and as a board member of Financeware LLC, Capital ROCK LLC, and Runway Growth Finance. He will focus on the launch of Cornerstone FTM, a financial technology focused investment fund.

Shortly before, Fazzaco reported that Virtu Financial has revealed a 12.9% decrease in total revenue on a yearly basis for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2023​.
