Mitrade Expands Global Licensing with South African Acquisition

Mitrade has announced the acquisition of Fridah Asset Managers Pty Ltd, a licensed Financial Services Provider (FSP) regulated by South Africa's Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA). Following the transaction, the company will be renamed Mitrade Markets Pty Ltd, becoming the firm's fifth regulatory license globally.
The move extends Mitrade's footprint into Africa and complements its existing licenses from ASIC (Australia), CIMA (Cayman Islands), FSC (Mauritius), and CySEC (Cyprus). With this expansion, Mitrade strengthens its presence across key emerging markets including Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America - regions the company identifies as strategically important for its long-term growth.
Through this acquisition, Mitrade aims to enhance its global regulatory infrastructure, providing traders with access to more than 800 financial instruments - including forex, indices, commodities, ETFs, and shares - through a single, secure platform. The company positions the move as part of its mission to deliver regulated, transparent, and accessible trading experiences worldwide.
"In a volatile macroeconomic climate, building resilient infrastructure across licensed jurisdictions is how we scale sustainably," said Kevin Lai, Vice President of Mitrade. He added that the firm's goal is to "promote inclusivity by expanding access to credible, regulated brokers across regions like LATAM and MENA," while offering intuitive tools tailored to diverse trading communities.
