The Role:

We’re looking for an MLRO/Compliance Officer who will enforce and monitor our compliance with regards to anti-money laundering.

This is a key position on our experienced and agile Compliance team, and you’ll take a central role in our anti-money laundering compliance activities. This will include managing the AML programme, detecting suspicious activities and compiling reports. On a day-to-day basis you will need to help Paysend meet the compliance standards that provide an important framework to the FinTech industry. Strong analysis and communication skills, and AML audit test understanding, are required for you to be successful in this role and to grow your own career as Paysend continues on its upward trajectory.

What you’ll be doing:

Enforcement and monitoring of Paysend’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and Paysend’s AML programme.
Development and approval of amendments to the AML programme.
Detecting suspicious activities and proper SAR E-filing.
Maintenance of internal documentation of any known, detected, reported suspicious activities or sanctions list matches (including storage of SARs in Paysend’s files), and the disposition of any AML investigations along with supporting records.
Representing Paysend in its communications with the FCA and other state authorities with respect to AML/CTF matters.
Responding to inquiries from governmental agencies.
Conducting due diligence of Paysend’s service providers.
Conducting due diligence of the Paysend’s business clients.
Advising on the due diligence of individuals using Paysend’s products and services#.
Reporting summary of detected AML risks to Paysend’s Board of Directors on a monthly basis.
Remaining abreast of new or amended regulations and laws related to AML and analysing their potential impact to Paysend’s business.
Arranging AML training for Paysend employees.
Arranging independent review of the AML Policy testing and review by the auditors, including suggesting of the independent third party, approving the scope of work, discussing the audit results with Paysend’s management and arranging relevant steps to be taken to comply with the audit recommendations.
Represent Paysend at external events and meetings.

What we’re looking for:

A Bachelor’s degree required and ICA diploma in compliance (or similar degree).
Familiarity with the UK compliance laws and regulations applicable to financial institutions .(including without limitation, MLR 2017, PSR 2017, DPA 2018, JMLSC Guidance).
Significant experience in a financial institution (e-money institution or an online payment services provider is preferred) in a position of a compliance officer/manager>
Experience and ability to work independently without assistance of subordinates.
Excellent communicator.
Positive and flexible attitude to work particularly new initiatives.
Diplomatic in meeting and working with people, good cultural awareness.
Capable of developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, highly organised.
