Mondu Expands B2B Payment Solutions with Launch of Instant Account-to-Account Payment System
Mondu, a growing player in the B2B payments sector, has launched an instant account-to-account (A2A) payment solution called Pay Now, designed to streamline online transactions for businesses. This new product extends Mondu’s existing payment suite, which already includes Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) solutions. The company aims to address increasing demand for flexible payment options within the fast-growing European B2B e-commerce market.
The Pay Now solution allows business buyers to make immediate payments directly from their bank accounts, improving the efficiency of the payment process. Merchants benefit from simplified reconciliation processes, with Mondu managing all risk and fraud checks. This development comes at a time when the European B2B e-commerce market is experiencing rapid growth, with expectations for the market to reach $2.2 trillion by 2027.
Mondu’s new offering aligns with the broader shift in digital B2B payments, driven by the increasing shift towards online sales. Pay Now is part of the company’s broader strategy to create a more inclusive payment ecosystem for B2B transactions. The European B2B BNPL market is projected to grow by 27.5% annually, reaching $256.7 billion by 2029.
In 2024, Mondu secured $33 million in funding, bringing its total investment to $125 million since its launch in 2021. This capital is being used to expand Mondu's reach into new European markets and enhance its payment solutions. The company also expanded its offerings through integrations with companies like Payin3 in the Netherlands and Lemonway across Europe, increasing its ability to provide tailored payment solutions for a diverse range of business needs.
Mondu's Pay Now product complements its BNPL suite and provides a solution for businesses that require immediate payment, alongside deferred payment options. It simplifies the process for both buyers and merchants, reducing friction in payment execution while improving operational efficiency.
