Monex Group Registers Solid Revenue in Q1 FY2023 Despite Unfavorable Market

Monex Group, a Japanese online trading services provider, has released its financial results for Q1 FY2023, unveiling that it secured solid revenue of JPY 17,698 million, compared to that of last quarter of JPY 17,612 million, despite an unfavorable equity and crypto asset market environment.
While the figure during this period dropped 32% on a year basis. Pre-tax income deceased from JPY 1,523 million of last quarter to JPY 1,078 million. The Group explained that accumulated customer deposits contributed to an increase in net financial income due to US interest rate hikes, offsetting a decrease in brokerage commissions.
Regarding EBITDA, the figure stood at JPY 1,845 million, slumping 86% on a year basis.
At the end of July, Fazzaco reported that Monex Group has closed the acquisition of all shares in ChatBook, a digital marketing SaaS provider provider.
