Monex's Crypto Exchange Coincheck to Start Offering MAYC on November 30

Japanese crypto exchange, Coincheck, which is owned by the Monex Group, announced that its NFT marketplace, Coincheck NFT, will begin handling Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) on November 30, 2022.

MAYC is a generative NFT project launched in August 2021, and is an NFT issued as an affiliate NFT of Bored Ape Yacht Club (hereinafter BAYC), which has one of the highest transaction values on OpenSea, the world's largest NFT marketplace. A total of 10,000 NFTs featuring apes have been issued, each with a different appearance and characteristics.

Yuga Labs, the operator, has used the success of BAYC as a foothold to develop derivative NFT series such as MAYC and BAKC, as well as the Metaverse business, and is also planning to release the Play to Earn business in the future.

Coincheck NFT is the first NFT marketplace in Japan operated by a crypto asset exchange that allows users to exchange NFTs and crypto assets. Coincheck NFT continues to provide an opportunity for customers to become more familiar with NFTs, which have the potential to become a new means of value exchange, by increasing the handling of NFTs used in a wide range of fields, including blockchain games, art, sports, fashion, and the metaverse.
