MoneyGram Partners With Coinme to Facilitate Bitcoin Transactions Services

Fazzaco learned that MoneyGram, a major global remittance company, has partnered with Bitcoin ATM operator Coinme to facilitate the Bitcoin transactions services.

This partnership will enable cash transactions for Bitcoin across 12,000 MoneyGram locations in the United States. They also have plans to expand this network to 20,000 stores across 32 states by the third quarter. Additionally, the two companies are considering expanding their reach outside of the US in the second half of this year.

Chairman and Chief Executive at MoneyGram, Alex Holmes, said in a statement: "This innovative partnership opens our business to an entirely new customer segment as we are the first to pioneer a crypto-to-cash model by building a bridge with Coinme to connect bitcoin to local fiat currency." 

Earlier last month, Fazzaco reported that Coinme​ has launched more than 300 bitcoin-enabled Coinstar Kiosks in Florida. For Floridians, the expansion makes buying bitcoin with cash as simple as visiting their local grocery store.
