Moscow Exchange Saw Decline in April’s FX Trading Volume

Moscow Exchange, the largest exchange group in Russia, has released key trading metrics for April 2022, reporting a decline in foreign exchange (forex) trading volumes.
According to the report, the total trading volumes across Moscow Exchange's markets reached RUB 88 trillion, compared with RUB 95.7 trillion in the same period in 2021.
For the Equity & Bond Market, the trading volume totaled RUB 1,446 billion, compared with RUB 4,417 billion in the same period in 2021. Trading volume in shares, DRs and investment fund units was RUB 1,016 billion. Trading volume in corporate, regional and sovereign bonds was RUB 430 billion.
Moreover, Derivatives Market volumes reached RUB 4.2 trillion and Money Market turnover was RUB 60.4 trillion. Turnover in precious metals (spot and swaps) was RUB 4.6 billion.
In terms of the FX Market, the exchange reported a trading volume of RUB 22 trillion, a decline from RUB 34.2 trillion in April 2021, with spot trades amounting to RUB 7 trillion and swap trades and forwards totaling RUB 15 trillion.
