MUFG Bank Opens Branch in India's GIFT City

MUFG Bank yesterday announced the opening and start of operations at its GIFT Branch in the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) in Gujarat, India. 

As previously announced, MUFG Bank has obtained approval from the International Financial Services Centres Authority in India and the Financial Services Agency of Japan for the opening of this branch office.

Since establishing the current Mumbai branch in 1953, MUFG Bank has long supported its clients who are doing business in India. With the opening of the GIFT Branch, its office network in India has been expanded to six branches (New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Neemrana, and GIFT). 

"Going forward, we will continue to strive to provide even more extensive and enriched financial services making the most of this network, the largest of any Japanese bank in India, so as to meet the diverse needs of our customers, " the bank stated in the press release.
