MultiBank Crypto Trading Head Malcolm Baker Joins Bit1 as Liquidity Chief

The cryptocurrency exchange Bit1 has appointed Malcolm Baker as its Head of Liquidity Engineering. Baker joins Bit1 in Dubai from retail FX and CFDs broker MultiBank, where he was Head of Trading for the firm's Crypto Derivatives & Liquidity unit, MultiBank.io.

Prior to his tenure at MultiBank, Baker served as a Senior OTC Crypto Trader and Market Maker at UAE-regulated crypto multilateral trading facility M2. His career also includes a role as Head of FX & Interest Rate Product Development for APAC at CME Group in Singapore from 2012 to 2015.

Bit1 is a professional digital asset exchange offering spot and perpetual futures trading. Regarding his move, Baker stated on social media, "I am excited to announce my new role as Head of Liquidity at bit1. In this position, I will lead liquidity strategy, develop our market-making systems, and scale execution across global venues." He added that the focus will be on engineering smarter markets, enhancing infrastructure, and optimizing liquidity.
