MultiBank Group, HTX, VOISO and Other Four Companies Are Hiring Now

A wave of layoffs that hit global companies shows no sign of slowing down in 2023. Just this week, several banking giants have renewed their staff cuts initiatives for reining costs.

On the heels of reporting profit losses for Q3 2023, Barclays unveiled new plans to cut jobs. The bank has already slashed hundreds of jobs this year.

UBS is letting go nearly half of the staff it inherited from Credit Suisse in Spain. This is part of the latest restructuring following the bank's take-over of its fallen Swiss rival earlier this year. Around 147 from among the 350 people will be trimmed, with the large majority being investment bankers. 

Moreover, analysts estimated that up to 35,000 employees could be laid off from the combined bank's workforce of 120,000.

In addition, the Japanese investment bank Nomura Holdings has axed about 10 of its Hong Kong-based investment bankers, citing softening the blow of slowing dealmaking activities.

Also, the Australian branch of PwC announced 78 employees who had been set to move across to spin-off consultancy Scyne Advisory are encouraged to look at the internal jobs board.

Given the state of the broader economy, the current employment environment is far from ideal.
