Nasdaq launches Nasdaq Economic Institute

Nasdaq Inc (NASDAQ:NDAQ) has announced the launch of the Nasdaq Economic Institute, a new research platform aimed at providing policymakers, regulators, and market participants with deeper insights into the forces shaping capital markets and the broader financial ecosystem.
The Institute's inaugural research series will focus on how artificial intelligence is transforming the global economy and markets. Its first report examines how generative AI is reducing barriers to entrepreneurship and stimulating new business formation.
"Better markets are built on better insights," said Jeremy Skule, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Nasdaq. He emphasized the growing need for rigorous, data-driven economic research as economies and technologies evolve rapidly.
Beyond technology's impact, the Institute will publish research across three core areas: Capital Formation, Market Modernization, and Financial Resiliency. These pillars address efficient market access, technology-driven regulatory frameworks, and strengthening the financial system's risk architecture.
"The financial ecosystem is growing more complex and interconnected daily," noted Phil Mackintosh, Nasdaq's Chief Economist. "We have an opportunity to produce original, data-grounded research that cuts through that complexity."
The Institute will also function as a convening platform, hosting roundtables and forums to foster dialogue among market participants, regulators, and academics on topics like market access, infrastructure modernization, and regulatory evolution.
