New Zealand's FMA Warns Against Synergy Capital Asset Management

​The New Zealand's Financial Markets Authority (FMA) has published a warning on its website against Synergy Capital Asset Management.

According to the regulator, the firm is using or giving the following details:

• Email: info@synergycapitalam.com, admin@synergycapitalam.com

• ​Telephone: +852 58197692

As detailed in the notice, the regulatory body said that Synergy Capital Asset Management may be operating a scam. The suspicious entity is not listed on the Financial Service Providers Register and is not an incorporated company in New Zealand.

The entity claims to be registered in Hong Kong, however, do not appear on the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission as a company.

New Zealanders are being cold called by representatives from Synergy Capital Asset Management offering opportunities to invest in Pre-IPO shares. In addition, the company provides insufficient documentation when suggesting the purchase of shares.

Synergy Capital Asset Management may instruct funds be sent to bank accounts in different countries. FMA recommends exercising caution when dealing with this entity.
