New Zealand’s FMA Warns Against Walton Chase

The New Zealand's Financial Markets Authority (FMA)​ published a warning on its website against an unregulated broker Walton Chase.

According to the regulatory body, Walton Chase has the hallmarks of a scam. The regulator recommends exercising caution before dealing with this entity as it is not a registered company or a financial service provider in New Zealand.

In addition, representatives from Walton Chase are targeting New Zealanders by using fake news articles and false celebrity endorsements to promote Bitcoin investments and selling financial products which is illegal in New Zealand.

The British Columbia Securities Commission has cautioned the public about Walton Chase on 23 March 2021.

The New Zealand watchdog has continued to strengthen regulatory effectiveness in the country through efforts in regime, enforcement actions and staffing.
