Newton Investment Management Names Euan Munro as CEO

​The subsidiary of BNY Mellon, Newton Investment Management, a global investment management company based in London, announced that it has appointed Euan Munro as its chief executive officer (CEO), effective from June 23, 2021, subject to Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) approval.

Euan will report to BNY Mellon Investment Management's CEO Hanneke Smits and will replace Andrew Downs, who worked as interim CEO at Newton now.

Before the appointment, Euan served as CEO and a member of the global executive committee at Aviva Investors for seven years. Prior to that, he served as head of multi-asset and fixed interest investing at Standard Life Investments (SLI) for nearly twenty years.

Euan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Physics and Electronics from the University of Edinburgh and a postgraduate diploma in Actuarial Sciences from Heriot-Watt University. He is also a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
