Nextdoor CEO Sarah Friar Joins ConsenSys' Board of Directors

ConsenSys, the leading Ethereum software company, announced yesterday the appointment of Sarah Friar, the CEO, or Chief Neighbor, of Nextdoor (NYSE: KIND), as its newest board member. Friar will work closely with the board to advise on issues relating to emerging web3 business models and ConsenSys' business operations.
Joe Lubin, Founder and CEO of ConsenSys commented on the appointment: "We are delighted to welcome Sarah to our Board. She is not only a recognised leader having been in a number of senior management positions at listed corporates and technology firms, but she also has distinctive expertise and a passion for community building. We're about to flip the Age of Silos into the Age of Community and her unique background in that field will greatly aid the work of the board as the first independent board member. An advocate for supporting women in tech, Sarah is a fantastic addition to the ConsenSys board."
A University of Oxford, and Stanford University graduate, Friar currently sits on the board of Walmart and the advisory board of HOPE Global. Previously she served as CFO of Square (now Block, Inc.), when under her leadership, Square launched its initial public offering in 2015 and added $30Bn in market cap. Sarah is currently the CEO of Nextdoor, the app where you connect to the neighborhoods that matter to you. She is also the co-founder of Ladies Who Launch, a nonprofit that celebrates and empowers women entrepreneurs.
ConsenSys recently announced a $450 million Series D round that values the company at $7 billion, nearly doubling in worth since its last fundraise in November 2021.
