Nium Taps Alexandra Johnson as Chief Payments Officer

Nium, the global leader in real-time, cross-border payments, has appointed Alexandra Johnson as its first-ever Chief Payments Officer.

In her new role, Johnson will lead Nium's Global Banking and Payment Operations teams, ensuring the company's payment network adheres to best practices and regulatory policies worldwide. She will collaborate with the Risk and Compliance teams in each market to strengthen frameworks, establish new relationships, and leverage Nium's existing financial network.

Commenting on her appointment, Alexandra Johnson, Chief Payments Officer at Nium, stated: "I am ready and excited for the opportunity to level-up the already stellar network that exists at Nium and deliver innovative and market leading solutions to our customers across the globe".

Prior to joining Nium, Johnson served as the Head of New Product Development & Innovation at Bank of America, where she led a team focused on exploring new technologies and concepts to improve efficiency, security, and advancement of treasury solutions. Before that, she held the role of Head of Global FX Product Go-to-Market, Commercialization, and Partnerships at JP Morgan, overseeing product design, partnerships, pricing, and strategy for the bank's industry-leading cross-currency solutions. Previously, Johnson had also worked as a Director for Financial Network Implementation & Strategy at Hyperwallet, a global payout platform under PayPal.

Johnson holds an MBA degree from the George Washington University and dual bachelor's degrees from Michigan State University.

In addition, Nium recently announced its registration as a Financial Services Provider in New Zealand​, marking another achievement in its global expansion.
