Nomura Embarks on Extensive Global Tour

Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of a significant global marketing tour today, titled "Japan's Transformation," aimed at attracting international investment into Japanese capital markets. The firm stated that the initiative seeks to showcase the ongoing economic and corporate evolution within Japan.
Scheduled to run for four weeks from March 31 to April 25, this tour marks Nomura's largest undertaking of its kind to date. A team of 20 research analysts from the company will travel to approximately 25 cities across Japan, EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), North America, and Asia. Their agenda includes meetings with a diverse range of investors, including Japanese domestic institutional investors, large private wealth holders, overseas sovereign funds, pension funds, and global funds. Seminars featuring external experts are also planned as part of the tour.
This initiative builds on Nomura's history of promoting Japanese investment to the global community. The company's first international marketing tour took place in the early 1980s with the "Buy Japan" campaign targeting institutional investors in the Middle East. More recently, in March 2022, Nomura launched the "Revisit Japan" tour as the world began to recover from the pandemic, conducting research meetings to re-emphasize the appeal of Japanese markets.
Nomura highlighted the current favorable economic climate in Japan as the impetus for this new extensive tour. The company pointed to the end of deflation, corporate governance reforms, technological advancements addressing workforce shortages, and the recent surge of the Nikkei Index to a 34-year high in 2024. "This backdrop provides the perfect opportunity for a new, more extensive tour under the theme of 'Japan's Transformation'," Nomura stated in their announcement.
