Nomura Posts Robust Q4 and FY2023/24 Financial Results

Nomura Holdings, Inc. (Nomura) today published its consolidated financial results for the fourth quarter (Q4) and full year ended March 31, 2024 (FY23/24), showcasing a strong financial performance.
Financial Overview for FY23/24
For the full year period, the company has generated 1,562.0 billion yen net revenue, increasing 17.0% compared to 1,335.6 billion yen in the prior year.
Income before income taxes in the period jumped by 83.2% from 149.5 billion yen to 273.9 billion yen on a year-on-year basis (YoY).
Net income attributable to Nomura shareholders amount to 165.9 billion yen in the year, a significant growth of 78.8% compared to 92.79 billion yen in the prior period.
In FY23/24, basic and diluted net income attribute to Nomura shareholders stood at 54.97 yen and 52.69 yen respectively per share, compared to 30.86 yen and 29.74 yen per share in FY23.
Financial Overview for Q4 FY23/24
Net revenue in the quarter came in at 445.1 billion yen, 37.0% higher than 324.9 billion yen in Q4 of last fiscal year and 11.2% higher than 400.2 billion yen in Q3 FY23/24.
Income before income taxes for the period was 92.1 billion yen, a significant increase of 305.7% compared to 22.7 billion yen in the year-ago quarter and an increase of 17.0% compared to 78.7 billion yen in the prior quarter.
Net income for the quarter rose by 22.0% from 52.1 billion yen in the prior quarter to 63.6 billion yen, surging 639.5% compared to 8.6 billion yen in the same period of last fiscal year.
Net income attributable to Nomura shareholders stood at 56.8 billion yen for the three months, up 667.6% compared to 7.4 billion yen in the prior Q4 and up 12.3 % compared to 50.6 billion yen in the prior period.
In Q4 FY23/24, basic and diluted net income attribute to Nomura shareholders were 18.92 yen and 18.02 yen per share, compared to 2.46 yen and 2.34 yen per share in Q4 FY22/23, and 16.77 and 16.10 per share in Q3 FY23/24.
