Nomura Reports Financial Results for Q1 FY2023/24, with Total Net Revenue of Y348.9B

Nomura Holdings, Inc. (Nomura) today announced its consolidated financial results for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024 (FY2023/24 Q1), unveiling that total net revenue during the period was 348.9 billion yen (US$2.4 billion).
Total income before income taxes for the quarter was 46.3 billion yen (US$320 million), and net income attributable to Nomura Holdings shareholders was 23.3 billion yen (US$161 million).
As for the company’s Retail business, quarterly net revenue reached 92.1 billion yen, increasing 22 percent quarter on quarter and up 29 percent from the same period last year. Income before income taxes was 22.9 billion yen, up 133 percent quarter on quarter and 4.7 times higher than the same quarter last year.
Retail recurring revenue assets hit record high of 20.3 trillion yen, driven by growth in investment trust AuM.
Investment Management first quarter net revenue was 26.5 billion yen, down 30 percent quarter on quarter and 3.5 times higher than the same quarter last year. Income before income taxes was 3.6 billion yen, declining 78 percent quarter on quarter.

Wholesale booked net revenue of 190.9 billion yen, up 7 percent quarter on quarter but down 4 percent year on year. Income before income taxes was 2.1 billion yen, down 92 percent year on year.
