Northern Trust Names John Turney as Global Head of Front Office Solutions and Marisa Kurk as Head of GFX

Northern Trust, a leading financial services company, has appointed John Turney as Global Head of Front Office Solutions and Marisa Kurk as Head of Global Foreign Exchange (GFX).

Turney has served at Northern Trust for nearly 15 years. In 2007, Turney joined Northern Trust as Derivatives Analyst, where he was promoted to second Vice President of GFX Sales. He left the company in 2012 to join Luminous Capital, a wealth management firm that was acquired by First Republic Bank, as vice president. Turney returned to Northern Trust in 2013 in the same capacity as he had left before, moving through several promotions to be Senior Vice President of GFX.

Turney has led the front office Solutions business for Northern Trust's GFX since 2018. As global Head of Front Office Solutions, Turney reports to Melanie Pickett, Head of Asset Owners, Americas.

Kurk has brougth rich institutional foreign exchange experience for nearly twenty years to the company. She joined Northern Trust in 2019 as CEO for GFX. Prior to that, Kurk had served as CEO of Belvedere Trading, a proprietary Trading firm, and Mesirow Financial, a Financial services provider, where she worked for more than 13 years. In her new role, she now reports to Guy Gibson, Global Head of Capital Markets.

Northern Trust has announced a number of senior changes this year. In may, the company separately appointed Kholoud Al Dosari as Country Head in Saudi Arabia, and Stacey Hallberg as Senior Managing Director of Delray Beach and Boca Raton Offices. In early April, Thomas Swaney joined Northern Trust as Executive Vice President and Co-Head of Fixed Income.
