OANDA Japan to Discontinue Two MT4 Servers

OANDA Japan has announced substantial changes to its MetaTrader 4 offerings for forex traders, with the planned discontinuation of the Tokyo Server MT4 Discretionary Plan and the FX Tokyo Server MT4 "Forex-oj5k." Both servers will cease operations on December 13, 2024, as part of a broader strategy to streamline services.
In a detailed communication to its users, OANDA Japan specified that the creation of new sub-accounts under the Tokyo Server MT4 Discretionary Plan will end on September 26, while the acceptance of new orders will be halted by October 18. Traders are urged to close their positions prior to the shutdown, as the platform will enforce forced settlements for any remaining open trades post-termination.
Customers currently using the FX Tokyo Server MT4 "Forex-oj5k" are advised to transition to the "oj1m" group, another MT4 server, as soon as possible. OANDA Japan reassured traders that both servers offer identical rate distributions and spreads, minimizing disruption during the transition. With this move, the brokerage will retain only two MT4 FX Tokyo servers - "oj1m" and "oj3m" - under its Standard Plan. The "oj1m" server supports trading volumes ranging from 10,000 to 1 million currencies, while the "oj3m" accommodates volumes from 10,000 to 3 million currencies.
