OANDA Japan to Hike Margin Rates for GBP/USD and GBP/JPY Currency Pairs

OANDA Japan, a leading Forex and CFD broker, has announced that it will raise margin rates for GBP/JPY and GBP/USD currency pairs.
The margin rates for GBP/JPY and GBP/USD trading pairs on the NY server and Tokyo server will be hiked from the level of 2% to 3.3%. The change will apply to corporate accounts, effective on October 10, 2022.
The broker has warned clients who hold positions in these two trading pairs that if they continue to hold positions after the market closes on October 8, 2022, changes in margin at that time could result in a loss of funds. To this end, the broker advises clients to make corresponding adjustments in advance, such as reducing their position in these instruments or making sure that they have enough funds in the accounts.
At the beginning of this year, the broker had changed its trading conditions for currency pairs related to the Turkish lira (TRY), raising the margin requirement for TRY pairs from 10% to 25%, including EUR/TRY, TRY/JPY, and USD/TRY.
