OANDA Up for Sale by Private Equity Owners

Renowned global leader in online multi-asset trading services, OANDA, has been put up for sale by its private equity owners, CVC Capital Partners. The company, which competes with CMC Markets and IG Group, is being marketed by bankers at Nomura and Santander, according to sources.
Founded in 1995, OANDA has established itself as a key player in the trading sector, offering services in forex, equities, commodities, and cryptocurrencies. With headquarters in Asia and operations in the UK, US, and Japan, OANDA serves customers in over 120 countries and is expected to report record revenues of approximately $175 million this year.
The company's valuation for the potential sale remains unclear. However, it is anticipated that other financial investors will consider making offers. CVC Capital Partners, which has owned OANDA since 2018, declined to comment on the sale process.
The potential sale of OANDA underscores the ongoing interest and investment in the online trading sector, which has seen significant growth in recent years.
Last week, we covered the news of the ongoing legal clash between OANDA and GAIN Capital that has entered a critical phase following unsuccessful attempts at settling their differences out of court.
