OCC Taps Andrej Bolkovic as Next CEO

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), an equity derivatives clearing organization, has announced the appointment of Andrej Bolkovic as its next CEO. He will replace John P. Davidson who is going to retire in the first half of 2023.

Bolkovic will officially join OCC as CEO-Elect on October 3, 2022, and work closely with Davidson, the company's Board of Directors and the Management Committee to ensure a smooth transition.
Bolkovic currently serves as CEO of trading firm Akuna Capital. Previously, he joined ABN Amro in 2007 as CIO of ABN AMRO Clearing, and departed after nearly 10 years. During this period, he had held various leadership positions including Global Head of Product Management, COO and CEO at ABN AMRO Clearing Bank, and concurrently served as Non-Executive Director at ICE Clear Netherlands from 2015 to 2017.
Futhermore, Bolkovic was a member of the Supervisory Board of the European Multilateral Clearing Infrastructure (EMCF) and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Netherlands Clearing House (HCH). From 2017 to 2020, he was a director of the Board of OCC, thus having a clear understanding of the company's businesses.

OCC is the world's largest equity derivatives clearing institution, established in 1973 to promote stability and market integrity by delivering clearing and settlement services for options, futures and securities lending transactions. The utility operates under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
