Georgios Pantzis is set to step down as CEO of Octa Markets Cyprus Ltd after nearly nine years in the role, according to industry sources.

Pantzis is reportedly leaving the position to pursue independent business ventures, although further details about his plans have not been disclosed.

Octa Cyprus to Appoint New CEO

Octa Markets obtained its Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF) licence from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) in December 2018, enabling the company to provide CFD trading services across the European Economic Area.

Pantzis has led the operations of Octa's Cyprus entity since its establishment. His successor has yet to be publicly announced.

Octa Markets Cyprus said it is working with CySEC on the appointment of new Board members as part of its efforts to maintain a high standard of corporate governance.

The company also stated that Pantzis' departure is not expected to affect its existing clients or business partners.

Octa Brand-Sharing Structure Changes

The leadership change comes several months after offshore entities associated with the Octa brand moved to launch a new CFD brokerage brand, Elev8.

The entities, together with Octa's Cyprus-regulated company, had previously operated under the Octa brand through a brand-sharing arrangement, a structure commonly used within the online trading industry.

Pantzis' LinkedIn profile currently lists him as CEO of WealthIntel Management, a company providing services to family offices and wealth management clients.
