OKEx Plans to Hire 'external Legal Counsel' to Help Resolve Withdrawal Issues

OKEx, the Crypto exchange, announced that it has hired "external legal counsel" to help resolve withdrawals issues, which happened on October 16.

Announcing the update on Friday, the Crypto exchange said it has also contacted some private key holders. OKEx halted withdrawals three weeks ago as one of its private key holders has been "out of touch" and is undergoing police investigation. OKEx today said it cannot reveal details of the investigation as the matter is confidential.

According to the announcement, the exchange informed its valued users about the progress and status of the situation:

"Claims that a concerned party related to OKEx is under criminal detention have been refuted —we can confirm that these are rumors. Currently, the concerned party is, as stipulated by law, actively cooperating with a public security bureau in an investigation."

Also, OKEx added, "OKEx has sought legal support and guidance, and through this process, has made contact with the concerned party."

"At this time, unfortunately, OKEx is unable to disclose further information, as the content of the investigation is confidential."

In addition, OKEx reiterated that all user funds on the OKEx platform remain safe and unaffected.
