Osaka Exchange Reports Surge in Pocket Gold 100 Futures Trading in October 2026

Osaka Exchange (OSE) reported a marked increase in trading activity for its Pocket Gold 100 Futures and Pocket Platinum 100 Futures contracts in October 2026, with the gold product setting a new daily volume record.
Daily trading volume in Pocket Gold 100 Futures reached 13,526 contracts on October 16, 2026, exceeding 10,000 contracts for the first time since the product was launched in April 2026, according to the exchange.
Both Pocket Gold 100 Futures and Pocket Platinum 100 Futures were introduced in April 2026 to replace Gold Rolling-Spot Futures and Platinum Rolling-Spot Futures, respectively. The exchange said the replacement followed prolonged divergences between market prices and theoretical spot prices in the older contracts.
Each Pocket product has a single contract available for trading that matures in December each year. Alongside the December 2026 contracts currently trading, December 2027 contracts are scheduled to begin trading on October 28.
The older Gold Rolling-Spot Futures and Platinum Rolling-Spot Futures are scheduled to be suspended, with December 22, 2026 (Tuesday) as the last trading day. Open positions not closed by that date will be subject to final settlement based on the final settlement price calculated on December 23, 2026 (Wednesday). Open positions in the Rolling-Spot Futures will not be transferred to the Pocket Gold 100 Futures or Pocket Platinum 100 Futures.
