PayPal Promotes Archie Deskus to Chief Technology Officer

Just one day after the appointment of Jamie Miller​ as Chief Financial Officer, PayPal Holdings, Inc. (PayPal), a leading provider of digital payment solutions, announced that it has promoted Archie Deskus to Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of PayPal, succeeding Sri Shivananda, the current Executive Vice President and CTO of the PayTech giant, who will be departing PayPal at the end of the year. 

In the new role, Deskus will be responsible for overseeing PayPal's global technology, engineering, and information organizations, supporting the company's technology strategy, priorities, and data-driven operating model, as well as leading the planning, management, delivery, and transformation of PayPal's technology stacks, systems support and infrastructure.

Joined PayPal as Chief Information Officer (CIO) in March 2022, Deskus has been with the company for almost 2 years. She also serves on the board of directors of East West Bank and Cognizant. Prior to PayPal, Deskus served as Senior Vice President and CIO at Intel Corporation, focusing on capitalizing information techonogy to accelerate the company's significant growth goals across a diverse portfolio of businesses. Between October 2017 and January 2020, she worked as CIO and SVP at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), a global edge-to-cloud company where she was responsible for the company's IT infrastructure and technology resources, working closely with HPE businesses to achieve strategic goals. Earlier in her career, Deskus had held CIO roles at several leading firms across industries, including Baker Hughes, Ingersoll Rand, Timex Group and Carrier.

Deskus obtained her Bachelor's Degree of Business Administration and Management Information Systems from Boston University and earned her MBA Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
