​An Inspirational Career Path from Programmer to CEO

The air in Cyprus is dry yet passionate from May to October, under the influence of a typical Mediterranean climate. Cristian Vlasceanu, CEO at Centroid Solutions, has a similarly passionate and inspirational career path to share with us that goes all the way back to 2006.

​Cristian started off as a programmer in Romania back in 2006. For most people who just found their first job, many of them wish to do their job well from the very basics, and hopefully get promoted as they age and their experience adds on. We believe that Cristian had a similar faith too.

In 2009, however, Cristian made a decision to go to the Netherlands where he studied in Vrije Universiteit for his master's degree. During the period, he went to IBM as an intern where he learned even more at a world-renowned tech giant.

Cristian was employed by a fintech firm in Cyprus after his graduation in 2011, marking his official entry to the forex business. Cristian was promoted from a software engineer in the first place to the CEO office in the following years.

In early 2021, the famous fintech solution provider Centroid Solutions announced that Cristian is officially onboard as the group's CEO. It is the perfect career dream coming true, especially for many technicians who work in the forex business. His success, however, is attributed to his hard work throughout the last decade.

Fazzaco was honored to have an exclusive interview with Cristian​ in late September 2021. Cristian elaborated on the three key product suites of Centroid, including Risk Management, Aggregation Engine, and Hosting. In particular, he mentioned a technology suite that helps brokers effectively overcome all sorts of issues emerging from risk management by merging real-time risk management and quantitative analytics.

Led by Cristian, Centroid has had some big moves this year: In April, it announced to offer a new package solution to brokers using MT5, providing brokerages with an edge over technology and infrastructure, as they start and scale their operations. Later on, a number of announcements on partnerships between Centroid and numerous forex brokers, fintech firms and banks were made.

Most recently, Centroid integrated with DXtrade, a stock and forex trading platform for brokers built by Devexperts, a financial software development company, to aggregate liquidity. Besides, a partnership with Atlas Bank, a bank based in Latin America, was established to offer clients with first-tier bank liquidity.

​Cristian not only did his job as a programmer well in the first place, but he also kept improving himself, and gained experience in terms of business and staff management, marketing as well as decision-making in the process. His career story is indeed an inspiring one, and we believe that Centroid Solutions will continue to provide forex brokers with even better technological solutions with him being the CEO.
