Peter Hetherington Named Capital.com and Currency.com New CEO

Fazzaco learned that Capital.com, the Forex and CFD broker, and the crypto exchange Currency.com announced today that they have tapped Peter Hetherington to assume their Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from Jonathan Squires, who disclosed ​earlier this month his decision to end his tenure at the end of May.

Peter will based in London, responsible for leading the aforementioned two companies' (hereafter referred to as the Group) continued growth. Specifically, he will oversee the Group's expansion into new markets while developing a resilient, compliant operation supported by an experienced global team of professionals.

Peter is a financial veteran with more than 25-year experience in the industry. He has been with IG Group for over 24 years, serving as CEO from July 2015 to September 2018. Prior to this role, he worked as Chief Operation Officer and Executive Director for more than 13 years. Following IG Group, he was CEO at Schroders Personal Wealth, a joint venture between Lloyds Banking Group and Schroders.
