Plus500 Appoints Licensed Finfluencer as UAE Brand Ambassad
Plus500 has appointed Muhammad Alamer as its brand ambassador in the United Arab Emirates. Alamer holds one of the UAE's earliest financial influencer licenses, with registration number four under the Capital Market Authority, formerly the Securities and Commodities Authority.
Prior to becoming a finfluencer, Alamer spent nearly two decades advising high-net-worth clients at major UAE banks including Emirates NBD and Mashreq. Plus500 stated his banking career provided direct insight into a shift among UAE traders, who now increasingly source market information from online platforms and social media rather than traditional bank relationship managers.
Plus500 Group CEO David Zruia said Alamer brings "deep institutional experience, real credibility with traders, and a clear commitment to education done responsibly." Alamer emphasized his focus is on educating traders about market drivers and risk management, not just signal-following.
In his new role, Alamer will host public webinars and educational sessions for Plus500's global clients, including those of its CMA-regulated UAE subsidiary, Plus500Gulf Securities. He will also publish market commentary via Plus500 platforms, concentrating on commodities, global markets, and macroeconomic trends.
The appointment follows the UAE's introduction of a licensing framework for financial influencers roughly one year ago. Rules effective May 2025 mandate registration for anyone offering financial advice to UAE audiences via social media or similar channels. Requirements include a CFA charter or accredited analyst status, a minimum follower count, and adherence to a conduct code.
The regulator's list of approved influencers has faced scrutiny, with reports of non-functional or misattributed social media links among registrants. Alamer's listed LinkedIn profile link is currently not working. The CMA stated all links would be reviewed but has not yet addressed specific anomalies.
Plus500 has been expanding its UAE presence, launching Plus500Gulf under a mainland CMA license in April 2025. This complements its Dubai Financial Services Authority license held since 2023. The mainland license facilitates broader marketing and customer acquisition, with plans to expand its product offering beyond CFDs to include shares and futures.
The ambassador announcement coincides with steady financial results for Plus500. The group reported Q3 2025 revenue of $182.7 million and EBITDA of $82.7 million, with average revenue per user and customer acquisition costs improving by 2% and 12% respectively.
