Plus500 Names Jacob Frenkel as a Member of Regulatory & Risk Committee

Online trading company Plus500 announced that, following shareholder approval of Professor Jacob Frenkel as a Non-Executive director and Chair of the Board at the Company's Annual General Meeting ("AGM") on 4 May 2021, Jacob has been appointed as a member of the Nomination Committee and Regulatory & Risk Committee, with immediate effect.

In March, Plus500 announced the proposed appointment​ of Professor Jacob Frenkel as Chairman of its Board of Directors.

Professor Frenkel has a track record of over 40 years in global macroeconomics. He was most recently the Chairman of JPMorgan Chase International, between 2009 and 2020. 

Professor Frenkel served as Chairman and CEO of the G-30, between 2001 and 2011, Vice Chairman of American International Group, Inc. between 2004 and 2009, and Chairman of Merrill Lynch International, and Chairman of Merrill Lynch's Sovereign Advisory and Global Financial Institutions Groups, between 2000 and 2004. Additionally, Professor Frenkel served for two terms as Governor of the Bank of Israel between 1991 and 2000.

Professor Frenkel is a graduate of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science, and holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
