Plus500, a global multi-asset fintech group, has announced that it has obtained a license from the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO). This authorization marks a significant step in the company's strategic expansion into the North American market, extending its services into Canada's regulated financial landscape.

With the new CIRO license, Plus500 plans to commence operations within the Over-the-Counter (OTC) market and intends to further broaden its local offerings by introducing an omni-channel suite of products. This expansion aligns with the firm's strategic objectives to strengthen its international presence and deliver innovative solutions across various financial markets.

David Zruia, Chief Executive Officer of Plus500, stated, "We are delighted to have obtained this important authorization from CIRO in Canada and we are excited to bring our market-leading technology capabilities to customers in the region." He added that this development represents the latest fulfillment of their strategy to enter new markets, develop new products, and deepen customer engagement, while upholding high standards of compliance and operational excellence.

Plus500 highlights a track record of acquiring new regulatory licenses in strategically important, high-growth markets globally, including the US, Japan, and the UAE. The company now holds 15 regulatory licenses worldwide, which it considers a valuable asset and a source of competitive advantage, providing a strong regulatory foundation for its global operations.
