Polish Online Exchange Cinkciarz.pl Declared Bankrupt by Court
The District Court in Zielona Góra, Poland, has declared the online currency exchange Cinkciarz.pl bankrupt. The decision follows months of financial difficulties and customer complaints about failed transactions.
According to a report from local media outlet InteriaBiznes, a trustee, Łukasz Grenda, has been appointed to liquidate the company's assets and manage the process for creditors to file claims.
The bankruptcy proceedings were initiated in spring 2025 after a creditor, who was owed PLN 2 million, filed a petition. Prior to this, users had reported transaction delays and failures for over a year, with amounts owed ranging from a few hundred to hundreds of thousands of złoty.
A court supervisor's report confirmed the company was permanently insolvent, stating Cinkciarz.pl "lacks sufficient assets to repay all its creditors." Lawyers representing affected customers noted that the bankruptcy declaration is the most viable path for clients to recover their funds.
Creditors are now urged to file their claims electronically through Poland's National Debt Register (KRZ). The deadline to submit claims without incurring a fee is November 26, 2025.
The bankruptcy is separate from an ongoing criminal investigation by the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Poznań, which filed charges in March 2025 related to alleged fraud and money laundering. Estimated client losses in that probe are reported to be near PLN 125 million.
The company's website currently displays the message, "This is not the end of the story."
