PrimeXM Reports 6.45% YoY Jump in Trading Volume for May 2021

PrimeXM, a leading provider of FX trading industry technology, has published its trading volume and execution statistics for May 2021, revealing a 6.45% jump in trading volume compared to the same month of last year.
Specifically, PrimeXM has recorded a total of $941.64 billion in monthly trading volume in May 2021 across the 3 major Data Center locations, compared to last year’s $884.61 billion.

The Average Daily Volume (ADV) in May was $44.84 billion, a close to 10% MoM improvement. In addition, the highest daily trading volume of the month was recorded on 19th May with $59.53 billion turnovers. The total number of trades in May was 27.57 million.
Over 76% of the total monthly traded volume was recorded in the company’s Data Center located in LD4, representing $719.19 billion in notional value. Its Data Center in NY4 has remained in 2nd place consecutively for the third month with a $140.41 billion, which saw a significant 10.67% MoM growth.
In terms of the FX segment, XAUUSD has remained consistently as the most popular instrument of traders for the past few months. Its total trading volume in May has reached $290 billion, which represents a 12% MoM increase. Major FX pairs EURUSD and GBPUSD kept the 2nd and 3rd places with a combined trading volume of $232 billion.
As Fazzaco reported last month, PrimeXM revealed a MoM dip in all trading metrics for April 2021, including a 15.18% decrease in total trading volume and a 21.79% drop in the number of trades.
