Qubealgo named Mark Reeves head of sales on Tuesday, giving the former Standard Chartered executive director responsibility for global sales and business development. The London-based software company, trading as Riskpath Limited, sells development tools that banks and trading firms use to build their own execution algorithms rather than licensing a finished platform. The hire places a career bank salesman at the centre of the company's core proposition: whether institutions should develop trading technology in-house or buy off-the-shelf solutions. "Financial institutions still face a choice between expensive proprietary development or inflexible off-the-shelf solutions," Reeves said in the announcement. Reeves spent 14 years at Deutsche Bank and 10 years at Standard Chartered. He joined Deutsche Bank in London in December 2000 as an FX operations supervisor, moved to the FICC eCommerce team in 2005 and onto the FX sales desk in 2007. He also spent seven months in 2015 at FXSpotStream as head of sales and new business for the Americas, a role not mentioned in Qubealgo's announcement. At Standard Chartered he ran the macro sales desk covering banks and broker-dealers and was previously a director in FX sales. He left the bank in July 2025.

Qubealgo opened its software to the wider market in April 2023 after running it with a select group of clients. Its only publicly named partner since then is Quadra, a crypto trading platform signed in July 2025. The company has not disclosed its client count, headcount, or whether it has raised outside capital. Its registered office is an accountancy practice in Poole, Dorset.

Qubealgo's toolkit pitch allows clients to retain intellectual property in whatever they build, targeting institutions with quants but no budget for a full platform build. Competitors such as Tradeweb and Tradefeedr offer finished solutions or analytics, while market data firm BMLL is expanding its commercial headcount. Co-founder Martin Zinkin noted rising demand for "sophisticated automated trading solutions" as fixed income, FX and digital asset markets evolve.

Zinkin previously ran electronic trading businesses at Deutsche Bank, BNP Paribas, Nomura and Lehman Brothers. Co-founder Jeff Leal headed quantitative e-trading teams at BNY Mellon, Nomura and Lehman before moving to Monochrome Asset Management. Riskpath's most recent accounts, filed in January for the year to 31 May 2025, were unaudited and abridged under the UK small-company exemption.
