Fazzaco learned that Refinitiv, a leading financial markets data and infrastructure provider, has been approved by the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (SFTA) to help financial institutions meet their Swiss stamp tax obligations.

Similar to the EU financial transaction tax regulation, the SFTA claims a financial stamp tax for any domestic and non-domestic securities within the scope of debenture, equity, funds and structured products. The firms are required to provide data to help meet their regulatory stamp tax requirements.

In the face of increasing regulatory challenges, Refinitiv's Swiss stamp tax solution helps the financial services meet their varied regulatory reporting requirements and makes it quick and efficient for them to access the data they need via APIs.

Head of Tax and Financial Regulation, Data & Analytics at Refinitiv, David Berbner, said: "We're delighted to build on our long-term commitment to the Swiss market with this new solution, offering more diversification to the Swiss market in meeting its stamp tax obligations as simply and efficiently as possible. Our customers in Switzerland and beyond need access to comprehensive global data to power their regulatory reporting and support multiple needs across their business."

Fazzaco recently reported that Refinitiv has launched Refinitiv Active Investor for wealth managers and their customers. The new product provides advanced technology as well as a fully customisable look and feel that enables wealth management firms to optimise their brand identity, while giving self-directed investors looking for a more comprehensive trading platform, the flexibility to seamlessly invest their way.
