Refinitiv Registers FX Trading ADV at $413 Bn, the Lowest in Two Years

Refinitiv, one of the world's largest providers of financial markets data and infrastructure, has released its financial results for August 2022, unveiling that its average daily volumes (ADV) of currency trading came in at $413 billion on the company's main FX trading services, which marks the weakest in two years.
Refinitiv's turnover has dropped for three consecutive months since this June.
Specifically, FX trading volumes across Refinitiv Matching and FXall platforms declined 6.6% from $442 billion in July 2022, and 3% from $422 billion in last same period. Also, compared to March's yearly high, the figure fell 16%.
The company's spot FX volumes showed a better performance than other volumes, which include swaps and options. The figure for the institutional venue stood at $86 billion, down 12% from $98 billion in the prior month.
Shortly before, Fazzaco published an institutional FX trading volume report for August 2022, which disclosed an overall decrease, with Refinitiv slipping the most.
