Regnology to Integrate Wolters Kluwer’s FRR Unit, Expanding Regulatory Infrastructure Capabilities
Regnology has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Finance, Risk & Regulatory Reporting (FRR) division of Wolters Kluwer, a move that will significantly expand its offerings in regulatory reporting and financial compliance technology.
The FRR unit covers financial risk management and reporting solutions, serving banking and financial institutions across multiple jurisdictions. The acquisition is set to strengthen Regnology’s ability to deliver data-driven compliance solutions aligned with region-specific requirements and regulatory frameworks such as Basel IV.
The deal includes the transfer of FRR’s software assets and related personnel to Regnology. This will allow Regnology to combine its existing cloud-based infrastructure with FRR’s on-premise and legacy systems, offering clients hybrid solutions across traditional and modern deployment environments.
The agreement is backed by Nordic Capital, Regnology’s principal investor, and reflects the private equity firm’s continued interest in scaling regulatory technology platforms with cross-border utility.
Pending regulatory approval and customary closing conditions, the transaction is expected to conclude in the coming months. Upon completion, Regnology is expected to operate one of the most comprehensive regulatory reporting platforms available to financial institutions globally.
