Regtech Kaizen Buys Compliance Solutions Firm Red Deer

Regtech Kaizen Reporting has acquired compliance solutions provider Red Deer for an undisclosed sum.

Red Deer’s technology platform provides surveillance and research tools for middle office and compliance teams at banks, and asset management and trading firms.

The firm’s surveillance tech helps these financial institutions comply with regulations, spot market abuse and manipulation such as spoofing in exchange and OTC markets.

Its communications surveillance can also scan and trace e-mails and online conversations for signs of prohibited activity.

Alongside its surveillance tools, Red Deer offers online research management tools which provide solutions for managing MiFID II’s Unbundling and Fair Value rules.

Kaizen Reporting CEO Dario Crispini says the acquisition of Red Deer will allow the firm to offer a new range of surveillance and research tools to its clients.

Red Deer head of product Alistair Downes says the deal will leverage both firms’ "expertise and technology" and offer clients "an integrated solution for all of a firm’s regulatory and compliance needs".
