Riot Blockchain Appoints New Executive Chairman, Lead Independent Director and Director

Riot Blockchain, Inc. (Riot), a bitcoin mining company focused on supporting the bitcoin ecosystem through proof-of-work mining, announced that it has named Benjamin Yi as Executive Chairman, Hubert Marleau as Lead Independent Director and added Lance D’Ambrosio to its Board of Directors. 

Accoding to Riot’s press release, Benjamin Yi has over sixteen years of experience in capital markets. He joined Riot in 2018, where he served as Independent Director of the Board of Directors since October 2018 and Chairman of the Board since November 2020. In his new role, Benjamin Yi will support and continue to work closely with Riot’s executive management team to implement the firm’s mission to become one of the most relevant and significant companies supporting the Bitcoin network and greater Bitcoin ecosystem.

Lance D’Ambrosio brings significant corporate governance experience to Riot’s Board, including expertise in financial analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and complex international structuring. Aged 64, Lance D’Ambrosio is a successful entrepreneur, private investor, corporate director, and a past recipient of the Ernst & Young and Merrill Lynch Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the category of e-Software & Services. Currently, he is also the Managing Partner of 4 D Investments.

Furthermore, Hubert Marleau has been promoted to Lead Independent Director at Riot after serving around six months as an independent director. Also, he has become the new chair of the company’s Governance and Nominating Committee.
