US-based blockchain company Ripple has entered into a new partnership with Uphold, a global multi-asset digital trading platform. As part of this collaboration, Uphold will enhance Ripple's cross-border payments infrastructure by offering advanced crypto liquidity capabilities.

With its advanced trading architecture, Uphold, a leading Web3 financial platform, enables hassle-free movement of value between fiat and crypto, as well as across different networks. With access to a wide range of crypto liquidity venues on a global scale, Uphold empowers businesses to seamlessly serve customers and deliver payment.

Pegah Soltani, Head of Payments Product at Ripple, said: "Our new partnership with Uphold enables us to enhance our underlying infrastructure and Uphold's deep liquidity expertise further underpins Ripple's ability to offer fast and flexible cross-border payments around the world. We see this as the start of our relationship and are excited about what the future holds."

Simon McLoughlin, Chief Executive Officer at Uphold, said: "Ripple provides a tremendously valuable service to businesses making cross-border payments and we are thrilled to be an essential part of it. The Uphold platform features a fully-automated, high-frequency trading stack connected to 30 underlying trading venues allowing us to offer deep liquidity, multiple execution paths for transactions, and exceptionally tight spreads. Our partnership with Ripple illustrates how the unique capabilities of our platform can be used by enterprises to make efficient crypto-to-fiat transfers and bank payouts."

In recent years, Ripple has been engaged in extensive efforts to expand its global presence. In May of this year, the company expanded in the Middle East by establishing a new office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Following that, in June, Ripple received in-principle approval of a Major Payment Institution Licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), showcasing its commitment to expanding operations in the region. Moreover, Ripple is actively pursuing crypto licenses in Ireland and the United Kingdom, with the intention of bolstering its European operations.
