Robinhood COO Gretchen Howard to Step Down at End-2023

Fazzaco learned that Gretchen Howard will resign from the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Robinhood Markets, Inc. at the end of 2023. From April 3, 2023 until January 1, 2024, Gretchen will remain employed by the US-based online broker as a Special Advisor.

During that period, she will report to the Chief Executive Officer of Robinhood, and assist with the transition of her COO role and responsibilities and provide assistance on projects as reasonably requested by the CEO, according to a SEC filing.

Gretchen has been with the broker in the position for more than four years since her joining in January 2019. Prior to Robinhood, she was a Partner at CapitalG for five years. Between 2006 and 2014, she was Managing Director at Google.

In addition, Gretchen has spent over four years at Fidelity Investments as Vice President. Earlier at Andersen Consulting, she served as a Manager. She holds an MBA degree in General Management from Harvard Business School.

Last month, Robinhood disclosed a month-on-month increase of 600 thousand in monthly active users for January 2023​, reaching 12.0 million.
