Robinhood Launches Advisor Network to Expand Into Wealth Management

Rather than establishing its own in-house advisory division, the company will match eligible users with external RIAs. The service is initially aimed at Robinhood customers holding at least $250,000 in investable assets. Participating advisory firms must oversee a minimum of $500 million in assets under management and operate on the TradePMR platform.

The initiative builds on Robinhood’s acquisition of TradePMR, a custodian and technology provider serving RIAs. Through that deal, Robinhood gained access to a network of more than 350 advisory firms collectively managing over $40 billion in client assets.

In a recent post marking one year since joining Robinhood, TradePMR founder Robb Baldwin described the Advisor Network as a phased rollout intended to connect qualified investors with independent RIAs while maintaining advisor autonomy.

The structure positions the network as a distribution channel rather than a fully integrated advisory arm, offering independent firms potential access to Robinhood’s largely mobile-first client base.

The move signals a broader shift in Robinhood’s revenue strategy. Long known for its reliance on transaction-based income from trading activity, the company appears to be seeking more recurring, fee-based revenue streams linked to wealth management services.

The expansion places Robinhood in more direct competition with established wealth management platforms such as Charles Schwab and Fidelity, as it combines self-directed trading with access to advisory services.

According to the company, the Advisor Network will first be piloted internally with employees before being rolled out more broadly to eligible customers in the second quarter.
