The overall revenue for the quarter reached $637 million, marking a substantial 36% increase compared to the previous year. A major contributor to this growth was the transactions-based revenue, which surged to $319 million, reflecting a 72% rise.

Despite these impressive figures, Robinhood's stock took a hit, plummeting nearly 12.5% in after-hours trading. Analysts had anticipated higher earnings, with expectations set at $661.21 million in revenue and an EPS of $0.18. The company's Chief Financial Officer, Jason Warnick, attributed the shortfall to "contra revenue" related to promotions, which was overlooked by market analysts.

The firm's net income improved to $150 million, translating to a diluted EPS of $0.17, a stark contrast to the net loss of $85 million reported during the same period last year. The increase in customer activity was evident, with the platform gaining an additional one million funded accounts, bringing the total to 24.3 million. Investment accounts now total 25.1 million, with the average revenue per user climbing 31% to $105.

Robinhood remains focused on achieving sustainable growth, with a commitment to delivering profitability in the coming year.
