RoboForex Expands Swap-Free Trading to All Clients
Retail broker RoboForex announced that it will offer swap-free trading accounts to all clients on its platform, eliminating overnight holding fees without increasing spreads or introducing additional commissions.
The broker, which operates under a license from the Belize Financial Services Commission (FSC), said the new account structure removes the charges traders normally pay when positions remain open past the daily rollover period. According to the company, unlike many competitors that compensate for the loss of swap fees by widening spreads or adding other costs, RoboForex will absorb the expense itself. Regional Pilot in Latin America Before the global rollout, RoboForex conducted a regional pilot program across several countries in Latin America last year. The broker said the initiative generated strong client feedback, encouraging the firm to expand the feature across all markets. Douglas Abreu, LATAM Operations Director at RoboForex, said the positive response during the trial phase supported the decision to introduce swap-free trading worldwide. He noted that the initiative reflects the company’s broader goal of simplifying trading conditions and improving cost transparency, while giving traders more flexibility when managing positions held over longer periods. The broker added that swap-free status will apply to newly opened accounts and will cover widely traded instruments such as currency pairs and precious metals. However, the company did not specify which instruments may be excluded or estimate how many clients are expected to adopt the new account structure. Broker Competition Intensifies Around Lower Fees RoboForex’s move highlights the growing competition among retail brokers to reduce trading costs in order to attract and retain clients. For example, Vantage Markets introduced swap-free accounts in Vietnam in September 2025, positioning the feature as a way for traders to avoid overnight financing charges that could reduce returns. Meanwhile, Versus Trade has also promoted swap-free trading accounts as part of its core offering, alongside improved execution quality and lower stop-out levels aimed at retail traders. Originally designed for Islamic finance, swap-free accounts were created to comply with rules that prohibit paying or receiving interest. In recent years, however, brokers have increasingly expanded these accounts beyond religious requirements, targeting swing traders and position traders who hold trades for days or weeks and seek more predictable trading costs. Cost Reductions Beyond Swap Removal RoboForex linked the new swap-free feature to a broader strategy of lowering trading costs. The company stated that clients are allowed up to three free withdrawals per month and are not charged commissions on deposits, which it says helps reduce barriers for traders managing both entry and holding costs. The update follows a series of product changes introduced by the broker in recent months. In November 2025, RoboForex upgraded its copy-trading service by expanding support to both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 while introducing a commission-sharing model for partners. Industry data from Brokeree Solutions suggests copy trading can account for roughly 6% to 20% of trading volumes at retail brokerage firms. In a separate development, RoboForex’s affiliated company RoboMarkets secured a Category 1 brokerage license from the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority in September 2025, allowing it to onboard clients in the United Arab Emirates and execute trades locally. RoboForex confirmed that the swap-free account option is now available immediately for new clients across all regions where the broker operates. However, the company did not disclose current client numbers or projections for adoption of the new account type.
